Where to Eat in Copenhagen? Govinda, Of Course!

by jem614

When the usual dish in Denmark (for lunch) is usually cold meat sandwiches, what does a vegetarian eat?  Indian of course!

Mama Veg travels far and wide to bring you vegetarian options from all over the world.  This month, she traveled to Copenhagen with a friend and visited an Indian restaurant where you can almost always find vegetarian options.

What a quaint little restaurant!

The regular menu is mostly vegetarian but they do have some vegan options.  Their curry is delicious and has some pretty great reviews.  If you’re in Copenhagen, please check them out!

For more information (use google translate if you need to as their website is in Danish) go to Govinda Vegetarian Takeout .

by jem614

As proponents of healthy eating, Ashley and I have tried many of the meal delivery services here in South Florida.  We thought we’d make you a short list so you know what is available and can try them for yourself.  It’s always great to be able to have your options laid out for you:

Supa Kitchen– Run by Kelsey Vasquez in Pembroke Pines- Current rates (as of March 2015) $70 for two meals a day for five days.  Please check with her to see how far she delivers.  She can do- vegetarian, 21 day fix, weight watchers meals.
Eco Healthy Meals– Out of business it appears
The Fresh Diet– I have done this one several times when they are on Groupon but can be a bit high otherwise $249 for 7 days.
Fit2Go– Also one that I’ve done on Groupon- about $20 a day for two meals and you can add on extra meals.
Catered Fit– can deliver all your meals for the day- 5 day plan is $125 depending on your area.
Wholly Kitchen– a little on the high side but looks amazing- 5 meals $250 Vegan option.
22 Days Nutrition– Vegan meal delivery- you can choose from 1, 2 and 3 meals a day- 2 meals starts at $115 for 5 days.
The Special– Vegetarian/Vegan Daily meal delivery starts at $14 a day for lunch.

Cuisine of India, Clear Lake, TX

by jem614

Cuisine of India is a popular place in Clear Lake, a city on the outskirts of Houston.  Clear Lake houses the famous “NASA” as well as the Kemah Boardwalk.  I was in Houston for business and wanted to try a few veggie-friendly places for our readers and this was the perfect spot!

For an appetizer, I tried the veggie samosas which were suprisingly lightly flavored and delicious (I say suprising because I expected a salty flavor and instead they let taste the vegetables shine through).  For the main meal, I picked the Vegetarian Delight dish, it’s about $14 and is big enough for two if you’re on a tight budget.  This dish is full of several different thick soups such as: dal makhni, malai kofta, saag paneer, peas pullao all scooped up with a fluffy peice of naan bread.  On the side they serve salad and samosas.

Of course, no Indian meal is complete without adding some chai tea!

Our service was excellent, the food took a little while but I’m assuming that’s because it was fresh.  I definitely recommend this great little place if you’re anywhere south of Houston and in the mood for some great Indian food!
